I learned this tip from my friend Kimi a couple years ago—to quickly thaw frozen peas, skip the pan and boiling water and add peas to a strainer running hot water over until thawed. Take those peas and toss them in a salad or garnish your favorite risotto, etc.

great tip!! I love fresh peas but so rarely have them. I’ll have to buy them in bulk now and freeze them 🙂
How timely – we are putting frozen peas in everything these days…
So simple. Thank you for a great tip.
Clever. Never thought of that – I just throw them in the wok and let them pop. Ken
Such a great tip!! So much easier and quicker than boiling water!
Yup. And if you are using them in a pasta salad, you can just drain the pasta into the same strainer. The boiling pasta water defrosts the peas, and the frozen peas help cool the pasta for the salad.
