Simple Peach Crisp | The Fauxmartha

I was hoping to post a picture of a cute swaddly little girl this week. She decided to keep cooking. So instead, you’ve got peach crisp. It’s not nearly as cute. I apologize. But it’s equally as good. It’s gestation period is only 30 minutes which beats the whole 9 month thing. Crisp, you win this week. Baby, I guess this means you win too.  Read more

When baking, use your nose. Without fail, my baked treats are almost always done or near done once I can smell their aroma seeping from the oven. As always, test doneness with a toothpick.

Creamsicle | The Fauxmartha

With all this talk of pumpkin lattes and apple crisps, I’m hanging on to summer for dear life. Not ready to let it go. Not one bit. So we’re making summery desserts nearly every night. This week it’s been peach cobbler and these dairy-free creamsicles. Read more

The cost of a date seems to add up quickly, where all I can seem to see are dollar signs above every doorstep. We’ve been on a grad school budget for too many years. I’m not sure that we’ll ever lose that mentality. Nor do I want to. Read more

Baked Donut Holes | The Fauxmartha

What do you get when you cross a pregnant donut lover with a craft blogger over at The Proper Pinwheel? A surprise baby shower with baked donut holes on a DIYed pinwheel. Myself along with a bunch of my favorite craft bloggers are having a virtual baby shower today to celebrate Lexy and her sweet baby girl on the way. If all goes as planned, Lexy and I will have our littles only a week or so apart. They’ll soon become best friends after we move to Denver next summer (fingers triple crossed). Read more
