To save buttermilk, simply measure out 1 cup amounts and pour into ice cube trays and freeze. Once frozen, store in freezer bags until needed. Then, thaw in the refrigerator or microwave and blend to reconstitute.

Great tip! I love putting little this’s and that’s in the freezer for use at a later time. I’m dairy free so when a recipe calls for buttermilk, I use almond milk and lemon juice. Works like a charm! 🙂

I have a powdered buttermilk that you just add to the dry ingredients then add the amount of water called for in the buttermilk amount.
