We still have zucchini left after making these bundt cakes and a zucchini pizza last night. I told you we had a lot. And it’s only when you have a lot of zucchini that you begin making cakes out of it. Don’t worry, we’ve eaten plenty of it in its original nutrition-filled form. But eventually you have to make cakes. Mini bundt cakes. Read more

The second issue of Foodiecrush Magazine is alive and well. It’s filled with beautiful photography and stories from my favorite food bloggers around the web. This community is a crazy unique one. One I’m thankful to find myself in. Five years ago, had you asked me what I would be doing, food blogger would not have been mentioned. But sometimes life is so perfectly random—you land exactly where you’re supposed to. Smack in the middle between food, photography, stories, and design. Read more

We made it. Halfway across the country. With our loot and car attached. We said goodbye to our old home and hello to a new one. We unpacked globs of boxes, put together stupid amounts of Ikea furniture, and painted some of it too. High stress situations don’t always lead to the smartest decisions. I should be packing. And organizing. And throwing out things I haven’t touched in the past four years since moving to Chicago. I shouldn’t be blogging and baking and coming up with new recipes. I nearly broke out in sweat on a cool 70° morning at the farmer’s market this week. Was I late? Where’s all the rhubarb? Oh, it was there alright. At the very last stand. Read more

I went on a baking spree this weekend. Baked straight through. And then Monday happened. I forgot to rest. At least the weekend tasted good. It started with pop tarts. Then vegan chocolate chip peanut butter cookies. Topped off with strawberry shortcake. (Don’t worry, we had people over to help consume all these treats.) Blame it on the lack of sleep, I couldn’t decide what to post the latter half of the week—cookies or shortcake. So I used a lifeline and polled the Facebook audience. Cookies and shortcake were neck and neck. But when I started writing this post, strawberry shortcake was winning by 1 vote. I checked an hour later and it was losing. Shoot! Not gonna lie, I may have asked my husband and sister to cast their vote. And I may have told them that I already started the shortcake post. Chicago is rubbing off on me in a bad way. The good news–vegan chocolate chip peanut butter cookies are coming early next week. Pinky promise. Read more
