Mexican Frittata | The Fauxmartha

I’m calling my Easter eggs frittata eggs this year. Hallie isn’t wise enough to know these eggs should be boiled, dyed, and decorated. And I’m fine with that. They’re actually quite beautiful just as they are.  Read more

Orange Rosemary Muffins | The Fauxmartha

I found spring at Trader Joe’s for $1.49. Well, hello little daffodils. I also found that after reading 547 children’s books you start talking like one. There’s no such thing as an inanimate object anymore. So to that end I say, goodbye Winter.

Braided Chocolate Bread | The Fauxmartha

Colorado or bust was my mantra. #Denver2014 was my hashtag. For nearly 6 years we’ve tried to make our way out west. After our last move to Connecticut, we promised ourselves that we’d pack up and make the Rockies our backyard once Kev finished his postdoc here. No excuses. Here we are 4 months from wrapping up his postdoc. And guess what? We’re not moving to Denver.  Read more

Baked Glazed Chocolate Donuts from The Faux Martha

Nothing quite says touchdown! like baked glazed chocolate donuts. Am I right? You should definitely add these gems to your Super Bowl menu. The fellas will go gaga over them. I’m only kidding. The very, very best oatmeal | The Fauxmartha

At best, I tolerate warm oatmeal in the winter (although baked oatmeal is a different story). No matter how I make it, it turns into a thick gummy paste better suited as an adhesive agent than an edible meal. It’s only out of obligation to my heart and hips that I eat it. Read more

Cranberry Orange Scones | The Fauxmartha

This post is sponsored by Grains for your Brain, a resource provided by the Grain Foods Foundation. Did you know, consuming whole grains helps to reduce blood pressure, vascular disease, obesity, cholesterol, and type 2 diabetes (source). Bring on the scones. As always, all opinions are my own. Sponsored posts such as this help to fund grocery trips, sweet new recipes, and ongoing site maintenance.

We’ve been talking a lot about traditions lately—traditions we want to start in our family. Up until now, the conversation never crossed our mind. Apart from decorating the tree the day after Thanksgiving, we don’t have many. Usually we head home for Christmas (either my house or his) and pick up the traditions we left off with there. They’re ours but not oursRead more

Lemon Poppyseed Muffin | The Fauxmartha

Breaking news these days—the babe slept in her crib, therefore her room, for the first time this week. All by herself. We’re lame and already miss having her in our room. She also only woke up once to feed. And then slept in the swing the next morning, which she’s hated abhorred up until this point. Sweet, tiny victories. I took advantage of having both hands free and made doughnuts from Ashley’s new book, Baked Doughnuts for Everyone. Read more
