Switch to aluminum-free baking powder to avoid the unwanted bitter taste in your baked goods that aluminum tends to gives off. It’s especially noticeable when making biscuits or scones that usually call for a good amount of baking powder.

Marina, here is my tip: i use 2 portions of cream of tartar for one portion of baking soda instead of the quantity of regular baking baking powder they ask in recipes. It works every time!
I buy Rumford Baking Powder. It should list aluminum in the ingredients or somewhere on the packaging if it has it. I can only find aluminum-free at health food stores. Traders Joe’s carries it around the holidays.
What brand would you advise? Do they list aluminium in ingredients? Thanks 🙂
