Kitchen Sink Bark from The Faux Martha

Dessert is an afterthought for us during winter. By afterthought I mean—we think about it once it’s too late to make anything. It’s never forgotten. We usually ditch our always-at-the-ready ice cream until the weather warms, unless Talenti is on sale. In that case, we just turn up the heat. Lately though, I’ve been filling my little ice cream bowl with granola and dark chocolate chunks just before bed. I know something’s good when Kev follows suit. (He’s been following suit).  Read more

Chai Tea Ice Box Cake | The Fauxmartha

I have this strange trend of posting pudding recipes when a friend publishes a new book. And by strange I mean awesome. (See this Butterscotch Pudding for reference.) Made with chai tea pudding, this ice box cake comes from the pages of Stephanie’s new book, Easy Gourmet. You probably know Stephanie as i am a food blog—you know that blog with the crazy beautiful photos and little logos that accompany every recipe? She kills it every time. I knew after landing on her site for the first time that she was going big places. I wasn’t wrong.

Chocolate Butterscotch Pudding + Banana Whip | The Fauxmartha

If you know me well, you probably know that if you call, text, message, or email me, it may be days (or, I’m embarrassed to say, sometimes weeks) until I respond. It’s not for lack of thought. I replay the correspondence in my head a million times and search for the perfect response. In fact, I respond so many times in my head, I think I’ve actually responded. It’s a problem.  Read more

Sangria Pops | The Fauxmartha

News: I’m excited to announce a partnership with Seven Daughters Wine. Let’s clink to that! This is the first of several collaborative posts.

There’s a point at which we become adults. I can’t pinpoint when exactly it happens, but inevitably, it does. We pack away the toys, paint our rooms neutral, turn off the cartoons, and start tuning into the news. We trade school days for work days, doodle-laden notebooks for to-do lists, and long summer breaks for “long” weekends. Though we may be more buttoned up compared to our younger selves, one thing is true—adults need popsicles too. Read more

Big Fat Sugar cookie with sprinkles from The Faux Martha

Some weeks when your baby is teething and you should be packing for a big move or finishing 800 deadlines since you’ll be without your computer for awhile and you’re feeling a little blue because of the aforementioned, you need big fat sugar cookies (and a good run-on sentence). These are the kind that’ll make you happy, leave you regretful, and eventually convince you to come back for another. You know the kind. And sometimes those kind are just as necessary as the healthy nourishing kind.  Read more

Toasted Oatmeal Ice Cream | The Fauxmartha

This time last year we were driving up the coast of Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Maine on a babymoon thinking parenthood can’t possibly be as hard as they say. My, my, my how different a year can look. Read more

Nutella Syrup | The Fauxmartha

I debated—do I update the Salted Nutella Latte recipe that sparked this search for a Nutella Syrup and run the risk of you not seeing it, or do I give it the spotlight it deserves with a new post? The decision was an easy one—make sure no one misses this recipe. The original latte recipe, which I’ll leave intact, calls for heating milk and Nutella in the microwave until combined, then adding/making simple syrup. It’s a bit cumbersome (and unfit for an iced version) but when Nutella is involved, one will go to great lengths. I have good news and bad news friends: I’ve removed the great lengths part.  Read more
