Sangria Pops | The Fauxmartha

News: I’m excited to announce a partnership with Seven Daughters Wine. Let’s clink to that! This is the first of several collaborative posts.

There’s a point at which we become adults. I can’t pinpoint when exactly it happens, but inevitably, it does. We pack away the toys, paint our rooms neutral, turn off the cartoons, and start tuning into the news. We trade school days for work days, doodle-laden notebooks for to-do lists, and long summer breaks for “long” weekends. Though we may be more buttoned up compared to our younger selves, one thing is true—adults need popsicles too. Read more

Big Fat Sugar cookie with sprinkles from The Faux Martha

Some weeks when your baby is teething and you should be packing for a big move or finishing 800 deadlines since you’ll be without your computer for awhile and you’re feeling a little blue because of the aforementioned, you need big fat sugar cookies (and a good run-on sentence). These are the kind that’ll make you happy, leave you regretful, and eventually convince you to come back for another. You know the kind. And sometimes those kind are just as necessary as the healthy nourishing kind.  Read more

Nutella Syrup | The Fauxmartha

I debated—do I update the Salted Nutella Latte recipe that sparked this search for a Nutella Syrup and run the risk of you not seeing it, or do I give it the spotlight it deserves with a new post? The decision was an easy one—make sure no one misses this recipe. The original latte recipe, which I’ll leave intact, calls for heating milk and Nutella in the microwave until combined, then adding/making simple syrup. It’s a bit cumbersome (and unfit for an iced version) but when Nutella is involved, one will go to great lengths. I have good news and bad news friends: I’ve removed the great lengths part.  Read more

Banana Curd from The Faux Martha

Before you say, “Banana Curd. That’s boring. Give me more Nutella.” Let’s talk. I know you have at least one overly ripe banana sitting on your counter. You could make banana bread, but you don’t have time for that. You could freeze it for your next smoothie, but there’s already five others in the freezer. Or, you could make banana curd in less than five minutes that will keep for weeks. And then you could shmear it on your crepes. With Nutella.

Salted Nutella Buttercream | The Fauxmartha

A couple weeks ago my mom came into town. She was going to watch Hal while I got so caught up on work I wouldn’t know what to do with myself. Instead I spent most of the week hanging out with her and making Nutella Lattes. I also spent a good amount of time just watching her with Hal. Not the controlling over-the-shoulder kind of watching. More so the how-did-you-do-that kind of watching. Read more

Pear Almond Galette | The Fauxmartha

I made a similar Pear Almond Galette for Thanksgiving. Or should I call it Almond Pear Galette? I can’t decide. Either way it was simple yet beautiful, nearly elegant, with only a couple ingredients. (Simplicity is prime these days.) By the cover, it was a sure winner. But you know what they say—don’t judge a book by its … they were right. Read more

I sat down to write this post last night. I wanted it to exude thankfulness in light of the upcoming holiday and this here Maple Pumpkin Pie. But I was far from feeling thankful last night. After a long day of 20-minute catnaps with a cranky babe, I thought I’d hand her over to Kev as soon as he walked in the door. After 5 minutes at home, he was called in. Dang. I forgot he was on call.
