I’m always halving and doubling recipes which is easy until you get into the teaspoons and tablespoons. Once I committed these measurements to memory, I was golden.
There are 3 teaspoons in 1 tablespoon. Half of a tablespoon is 1 1/2 teaspoons.
There are 4 tablespoons in 1/4 cup. Half of a 1/4 cup is 2 tablespoons.
No matter how hard I try, I can never seem to remember how many cups are in a pint. How many pints are in a quart. Or is it quarts in a pint? See the problem. The Kitchn posted this genius memory trick this week. I think I may be cured. Off to design a similar poster for my kitchen just in case my memory fails me. Just in case.
