I’m standing in a fog. The windows are translucent. I can’t see my next step. Although I know it’s infront of me based on experience. But if I quit moving forward, I’ll soon be paralyzed. With muscles atrophied from lack of use.

Fear. Decisions. Change. Deadlines. They can do that to you. Make you stop dead in your tracks. Whisper little lies of inadequacy. They’re like speed bumps. In the fog. Reminding you that the road is rough. And it’s far from perfect. Read more

The wedding madness has passed. And my little sister is now a married woman. My heart is crazy happy for her. The wedding was absolutely beautiful. And I am absolutely pooped (in the best possible way). In true fashion, we bit off more than we could chew. But we got it done. Read more

A couple months ago, Oh Nuts! sent me some jordan almonds and said create. I held on to them idealess for many weeks too long. Of course Easter eggs seemed like the obvious answer. Ombre? Everyone’s doing it. So I removed some of the color from the egg with a wet q-tip. The results were subpar. Speckled, speckled, speckled—I could hear them chanting in the background. With an extra toothbrush and some blue food coloring, they quickly became robin’s eggs. Read more

Once upon a time, I ate a tasty little cookie filled with Nutella, chocolate, and oats from a charming local bakery. In hopes of finding its recipe, I searched the interwebs far and wide. Tragically, the search turned up empty. And I turned up sad.

Every year we alternate. It’s a little tradition from our college dating days. This year it’s his turn to plan Valentine’s Day. Let’s hope I’ve dropped the necessary hints. Such a dangerous statement. Today he told me he was going to make me dinner from scratch. Usually I’d be jumping off the walls excited. However, I bet him a made-from-scratch dinner a month ago. He lost the bet. Smart boy—he thought he’d kill two birds with one stone. Smarter boy—he’ll come to his senses before the 14th. One can only hope. Read more

I’ve been holding out on you for a couple months. Keeping a secret. Jumping in my chair. Looking like a crazy lady, I’m sure. Making mini gold cakes. With pom-poms on top. For who you ask? I’m still not sure how I made it into these beautiful pages filled with genius ideas and impeccably styled photography. Pinching myself. Read more
