The turkey’s in the oven filled with cranberry walnut stuffing. I snuck in some kale. Shhh, don’t tell. The green bean casserole is prepped. Cranberries are crackling on the stove. The rolls are rising. And my dad is smoking the other turkey outside in the Texas snow. You read that right. Texas snow! It’s a Christmas miracle no doubt.
I’m off to finish cooking and soak up as much time with my family as possible. And maybe make a cup or two of this homemade hot chocolate I’m sharing over at Mint today. I hope your day is merry, bright, and filled with food that makes your pants too tight. Just the way it’s supposed to be. Merry Christmas my friends!
PS—marshmallows highly recommended with this.

Merry Christmas Melissa! I will just hop over to Mint to check out that recipe. Just what I need right now. Thanks, have a lovely day. xx Helene
You too Helene! xo
i am so enjoying the snow in dallas too. It seems like you have a great recipes and delicious hot chocolate to keep you warm this holiday season! Happy Holidays to you and your family
Ah, you’re in Dallas too?! Do you live here or visiting? Next time, we’ll have to plan a blogger meet-up!
That looks super delicious. I have been experiienting with different hot chocolate recipes for a while, trying to find the right blend. It really seems simple to master but it isn’t.
I had the same experience. I made one that was wayyyy too rich and chocolately and I actually followed a recipe. Ha! My friend Alison over at This Homemade Life told me she and her boys usually make there HC with powder for ease, but she said to make sure to use a high quality chocolate powder. The cheaper stuff can have a gritty taste.
Love love!! Hope you had a merry Christmas!!
Thanks Julie! Hope your christmas was very merry too! PS—my sister #1 loves your blog and #2 enters every last one of your giveaways. Made me smile when I she told me that!
