Good morning Mel and thank you for reminding us all to take a moment and hold the space yesterday.

I wanted to let you know that I took a deep breath and made Christmas in a Bowl on Saturday for a party on Sunday. It was not as difficult as I had imagined although I overcooked the chocolate pudding and had to make another batch. (I have a gas stove and I am guessing that is why the pudding cooked faster than the 2 minutes the recipe states. Something about the albumen in the eggs cooking and causing the pudding to harden…
And since I did not have a trifle bowl, instead, a larger glass bowl that tapered at the bottom, I made an extra batch of the mousse. But it was wonderful to put it all together and a lovely flavor. I was so excited to present it to my friends and then….15 minutes before departure, one of my dogs spiked a fever. So I stayed home and guess what, Christmas in a Bowl can also be named, ‘Breakfast of Champions’. Trust me, there is nothing remotely like it for breakfast!!!
Now, a question, do you have any idea how it will freeze? My hips are expanding!

And any chance you can come up with a chocolate mousse and butterscotch pudding recipe by February so that I can make ‘My Birthday in a Bowl’!!

I’m sorry your dog got sick! Hope he/she is doing better! But I’m glad you made Christmas is a bowl. Still my favorite dessert ever. I love your new name for it! Ha! I have the same problem every year. This guy totally get the better of my hips. I’ve never tried freezing it but I imagine you can. It’s better than having to throw it away. Let me know if you end up trying it. I think if you thaw it in the fridge, it will keep it from sweating as much and getting soggy. Chocolate Butterscotch sounds divine. I’ll add it to the list. Hope your holiday is great!! xo
